Perfect addition to my already existing neck edc. Which has at this point a knife sharpener, a p51 can opener, a handcuff key, a ranger band and now this great little signal mirror. The product is a shiny piece of polished chrome and is big enough to be useful but small enough not to be in the way. It's the same size and a military ID tag. Being metal it won't break leaving you with shards of glass when u need to be rescued. Plan on buying more once I complete this neck edc and start creating others

This is great for putting in a small Altoids or Altoids Small PSK Survival kit.You don't really need the thick plastic one with the strange center.Only problem with this is... it doesn't tell you how to use it.To use this one, you hold your fingers in a V at arms-length. Then you look through the center hole and you direct the sun so it hits the bottom part of the finger-V. Then you move the light and your hand up so that the airplane is right at the crux of the V with the light still shining between the V. Move it away from the V, then back to the V as you keep the airplane in the bottom of the finger V and do an S-O-S by going slow, slow, slow, fast, fast, fast, slow, slow, slow light towards the plane (or distant person). There's a video on YouTube which shows the use of this method. Just search for 'signal mirror'.

Excellent for the price and what it is. Don't expect the action of a larger mirror thats not what your buying. It arrived early in good condition. I did have to do some polishing therefore the 4 stars. But all in all it was a good buy.

The movie Open Water made me want to get one of these where that guy and gal go on a scuba diving trip and they accidentally get left behind in the middle of the ocean. If they only had a signal mirror they might of got rescued. This seems to be a sturdy little mirror polished piece of stainless steel and it's small enough to fit nicely on my keychain in my pocket. And with it on my keychain I will always have a signal mirror where ever I go.I think this little mirror is good for anyone that goes out in the water, even a little ways, so they could signal to someone on shore if they get into trouble and anyone that goes up in the wilderness.
