Eigentlich wollte ich nur ein paar Handfunkgeräte zum Offroadfahren kaufen. Unkomplizierte Bediehnung, Sturzresistenz und Wasserdichtheit waren die Vorgaben. All diese Kriterien werden von diesen Geräten erfüllt. Was mich begeistert hat war dann die klare und störungsfreie Übertragung selbst im niedrigen Leistunsbereich (zwei Leistungsstufen sind einstellbar). Alle Voreinstellungen sind praxisgerecht und hervorragend gewählt. Schließlich sind wir ja keine Hobbyfunker sondern wollen die Geräte nur zum dirigieren des Fahres in schwierigen Passagen nutzen. Und da muss alles einfach und schnell gehen! Knopf drücken - sprechen - fertig. Kein langwieriges herumfummeln an irgendwelchen Knöpfen - Nein - die Dinger funktionieren einfach perfekt!Was mich ein klein wenig gestört hat, war die Tatsache dass mir gebrauchte Ware gesendet wurde. Es war nichts beschädigt (außer einem kleinen Kratzer im Display) und die Geräte funktionierten einwandfrei. Dennoch habe ich neue Ware bestellt, bezahlt und möchte dann auch neue Ware erhalten. Ich habe dies dem Verkäufer mitgeteilt und meinen Unmut darüber geäußert.Dieser hat sofort reagiert, sich entschuldigt und mir eine entsprechende Entschädigung angeboten. Da die Geräte einwandfrei funktionierten habe ich dies akzeptiert und auf einen Austausch verzichtet.Wir haben die Geräte ausgiebig getestet und sind so zufrieden damit dass wir gleich noch mehr bestellt haben. Diesmal waren alle neu.....;-)Ich kann diese Geräte nur empfehlen. Erstklassige Funktion und robuste, wasserdichte Ausführung. Wer ein Funkgerät zur (semi)professionellen Anwendung sucht aber nicht gleich ein Vermögen investieren will, sollte es damit versuchen!

Sehr einfache Bedienung. Die Geräte sind mit 2W oder 5W Sendeleistung auf Amateurfunkfrequenzen angegeben.Robustes Gerät, sehr schnelle Einrichtung. Zur Reichweite kann ich nichts sagen, da wir uns tatsächlich und nach reiflicher Überlegung für die 500mW-Variante PMR, also das RB648 (ohne Plus) entschieden haben.

The Retevis RB648 Plus Walkie Talkies are well made of quality materials and appear robust. Designed to be used in rugged environments, they are waterproof and drop tested to a height of 2 metres. My only concern is the removable belt clip is held in place by a very thin plastic bracket and two small screws and appears quite fragile. There is also a small slot in the casing designed for a wrist strap (supplied) or lanyard (not supplied). They come with brief, but comprehensive instructions.The radios have a number of professional features, including PTT (with a choice of 2 switches), VOX, Scan Function with Priority Channel, SOS Alert, Vibrating Call Alert and an Earphone Jack.. There are 16 channels with optional CTCSS/DCS encoding. The internal 2000 mAh battery is rechargeable, giving extended working time and has two recharging options. Manufacturer claims a range of 5km in open terrain, but I have not tested this for the reason shown below.However - BE AWARE - The Retevis RB648 Plus Walkie Talkies are a powerful professional two radio system and as such require an OfCom licence for use in UK. This is not immediately apparent on the Amazon page, the headline of which states they are suitable for a recreational purposes (i.e. Camping). I only discovered that a licence was required in the fine print of the manufacturer's product information. FYI, The maximum penalty for using a walkie talkie without a valid license or exemption in the UK is imprisonment and an unlimited fine.If you require a radio system for casual recreational use, check out the less powerful Retevis RB648. This has a very similar spec, with an open terrain range of 3km. They cost about the same and do not require an OfCom licence.The Retevis RB648 Plus Walkie Talkies are a good product, but designed for PROFESSIONAL not CASUAL RECREATIONAL use. At current price of £89.99 for two units, they are competitively priced with comparable products.Would recommend, but only if you can justify the cost of the OfCom licence.One star deducted for lack of important and relevant information.

Nicely built pair of walkie-talkies, which have some mass to them. The battery life is excellent. In a densely populated neighbourhood with numerous houses, I was able to cover a distance of approximately 0.6 kilometres before they started breaking up. I believe they would perform much better in an open area. As a result, I'm looking forward to our next year's camping trip, where the kids will surely enjoy them.
