Bought this to replace one we had had for about 10 years, but sadly smashed. Didn't realise we could get a replacement glass part and had binned it before we found this out. Bought this new one, actually thought it was some sort of fake when it arrived. Turns out the company had been taken over by someone new since we bought our last one, and as is often the case with these things, they've made cost saving changes to the detriment of the product. It's just not as good. The finish is crap, there are parts that catch on others, and it feels cheaper. I'm sure it's fine if you never had the old one, but if you have, don't bother - find something else. We wished we did before we used it.

I'm more of a coffee person these days but got some loose leaf tea in a hamper for Christmas.Despite preferring instant to ground coffee I do have a traditional cafetiere with the plunger and I considered trying to make tea in that with the loose leaf. Theoretically it should work, but then this popped up on Amazon.Sorry from now being able to make loose leaf tea in a more traditional tea pot shaped vessel, we now have a very nice looking teapot on display in our kitchen. This really does look good. The copper is a really nice tone and the balance between glad and copper is perfect. Surprisingly for such a good conductor as copper, I didn't find the handle getting hot when boiling water had been in the pot for a while either. I'm going to be careful with that, though, as I expect it might catch me out at some point.

I wasn't expecting such a nice looking little teapot, perfect for one or two people. The pot comprises of four pieces. . The pot itself which is glass and copper (coating?) - when the tea is inside it looks great. The lid to the pot which fits snugly but not too tight as to make it hard to remove, it's actually quite satisfying removing it and putting it back on. Again the lid has a copper coating with a shiny silver top handle which compliments the look. The infuser/filter in which you put the tea leaves and pour the water. This has a handle for easy removal - I'm wondering if I could try nettles in this as it should be able to infuse other things other than just tea. Finally the metal lip that holds the infuser - removable to allow easy cleaning - it has a small metal strips that act as springs so it doesn't fall out easily. The filter works great and stops any leaves getting in the main brew, the only time anything was found in the bottom was when we poured the last bits of the tea leaf jar into the filter and the tea dust at the bottom of the jar found it's way through the holes - using it normally then nothing will be in the bottom. It really does look great and that may sway you as it may be a little on the pricey side - there are similar pots that cost less.
