Not the most attractive of wooden boxes but it's utilitarian, functional and versatile. In my case I added a couple of eyelet hooks on the front lid and box compartment, through which I attached a small combination lock, and instantly sharp kitchen utensils such as long carving knives can be locked safely in a drawer away from the inquisitive hands of small children.

This box will not be used for wine bottles. It will eventually be used to house a wizards/witches wand or two in one compartment and the other used for wizardly/witchy things and given to a youngster who likes this sort of thing. The "wand box" will be accompanied by an appropriate story with a Christmas theme, when I have written it.
