I used this mesh to transfer a design onto many quilt blocks on my last quilt. I used a sharpie to trace my design onto the mesh. I used a chalk pencil to draw onto the fabric, and though it's a bit "bumpy" at first, I got the hang of it. I did have to remove the mesh and go over the chalk lines with my quilt marking pencil so the lines wouldn't disappear before sewing them, but it worked great. I found it so much easier than making a stencil, and it's still in great shape after over 100 uses.

This item arrived today and I started using it straight away. I'm marking a quilting design on my grandson's Christmas quilt, and this has been so much quicker and simpler than using a stencil. I simply traced the design on the matt side using a 2B pencil, then laid the sheet on the fabric where i wanted it. Went over the lines with a heat erasable pen and got a nice clear dotted line to work from. Will probably try it with a chalk pencil at some point, but suspect the mesh will wear that down quickly. Easy to use pins through the holes to keep in place, or painter's tape on the edges. Good value for money. Even if it only lasts a year or two, the saving in time and effort is worth it.

this is great! It transfers the design to the fabric. I gave it a 4 because it isn't perfect....be sure to use a pen that works...not all pens work.
